After his 2 dnq's in F1 He moved over to Indy cars in 1982 but his career was cut short by a series of accidents. At the 1982 INDY500 he crashed at the start taking out Mario Andretti and AJ Foyt. Andretti was furious about the accident and yelled back at Cogan, "This is what happens when you have children doing a man's job up front."
