1967 Brabham
He was competing in the Bathurst 1000 Km in October 1992 when he pulled his BMW M3 over and parked on the grass alongside the Armco barrier. When marshals arrived they found Denny dead, still strapped into the car, having suffered a heart attack at the early age of 56.
Denny Hulme won the world championship 1967 in a Brabham despite never setting the fastest lap in or taking pole position any of the season's 11 races
