After the sudden death of James Hunt, Palmer moved into a commentary role for BBC TV. Formed his own racing series, the Formula Palmer Audi series. It's first champion was Justin Wilson & Palmer became his manager. In 2004 Palmer & his two business partners became the new owners of 4 UK circuits - Caldwell Park, Oulton Park, Brand's Hatch & Snetterton. In 2008 it became clear that his company MotorSport Vision (MSV) will provide the new F2 series with cars and engines, cars designed by Williams F1 and engines from Audi. In 2008 MSV also acquired the rights to the British Superbike Championship
