A graduate of German Formula Ford 1600 and FF2000 that never made it in Formula 1 that many thought he would. After 2 years with Zakspeed and 2 outings with Arrows/Footwork he made a success in Touring and Sport cars racing. From 32 GP's he started in only 9 and made it to the checkerd flag in 2 of them.
Retierd from active racing at the end of 2008 but stayed at Mercedes as a brand ambassador, instructor and test driver.
